Here are the different factors that can positively or negatively influence the quality of a webcast show.
The speed of your internet connection.
The network traffic in your area.
The overall use of your bandwidth (several devices connected simultaneously in your home).
The type of device used.
Tips and advice
Prepare in advance and proceed to a test! Make sure that your connection is working properly before the live webcast. Additional content is available on the La Trame viewing pages so you can do the necessary tests. This will also help you make sure that you are able to access the viewing link.
The best way to preserve the quality of video content is to connect a computer to a TV using an HDMI cable. On La Trame, screen copy functions (with Chromecast or Apple TV for example) on your TV are possible, but they will not be integrated into the player (as on applications such as tou.tv or Netflix for example). If you have a smart TV with internet access, it is possible to access the viewing link by copying the URL address in your browser. However, this option is not optimal, and it is possible that the resolution of the video will be lowered or that the quality of the live broadcast will be less fluid.
For an even more immersive experience, sound quality is paramount! If you have a good sound system with your TV, the HDMI cable will transmit the sound of the video. If you are viewing content directly on your computer, tablet, or smartphone, we recommend the use of headphones or headsets.
Make sure you have a good internet connection with sufficient speed. The minimum recommended download speed is 10 Mbps. You can test the speed of your internet connection here.
Try to limit the use of your bandwidth while watching the show (if there are several people using internet at the same time on your network, you may experience connection problems).
If you ever experience technical difficulties during the live broadcast, do not worry! All content on La Trame is available for replay for 48 hours after the initial broadcast. Watching replayed content is less demanding on your internet connection and you should be able to enjoy the show without interruption.
